Homestead Florida
is home to the Homestead-Miami Speedway, the only racing facility of its kind in the country. With its ability to support all kinds of motor sports, and with South Florida’s fantastic weather, all kinds of special events are held at the speedway all year long. Downtown Homestead features several fun special events throughout the year, such as the Second Wind Music and Arts Festival. This street festival features multicultural music and drama, street vendors, antiques and crafts. Usually held in late August, the Second Wind Music and Arts Festival marks the anniversary of Hurricane Andrew, and honors the individuals and organizations who came to south Florida’s rescue during this horrific storm. Main Street Homestead also features year round live music and concerts held in a variety of their folksy coffeehouses and outdoor cafes, a Cinco de Mayo Celebration in the spring and special Fourth of July and Christmas Celebrations. Nearby Biscayne National Park gives glass bottom boat tours April through December, which gives visitors a chance to view the spectacular underwater coral reef. Other special events in the Homestead area include lobster seminars, fishing tournaments and a special Halloween Hunt in October. The following is a list of some of the other popular special events in the town of Homestead.
The Hot Roads Car Show – This is a Main Street event, and appears every 2nd Saturday on Krome Avenue in downtown Homestead. This event is extremely popular with car enthusiasts. Hundreds of participants attend each second Saturday to enjoy the cars and Homestead’s historic ambience.
Friday Fest is generally a music-oriented event on the first Friday of every month in Losner Park in downtown Homestead. The event is has hundreds of participants, food and merchandise vendors. Music may include jazz, rock, folk, country, and gospel music.

Fourth of July Celebration and Fireworks in Downtown Homestead
Annual Homestead Championship Rodeo - A tradition for over fifty years. See cowboys and cowgirls, a precision equestrian drill team, clowns and bullfighters in the Doc DeMilly Arena combined to make great entertainment for the entire family. The rodeo is held at the Doc DeMilly Rodeo Arena located at the South end of Harris Field, at the southeast corner of the intersection of U.S. Highway 1 and S.W. 312 Street in Homestead, Florida.
