Homestead Florida
has an abundance of lodging facilities to meet your needs. You will find everything from budget motels and hotels, to more luxurious, upscale inns and resorts. Several hotels are located inside the city limits and are just minutes from the Homestead-Miami Speedway, Homestead Sports Complex and other nearby attractions. Some are within walking distance of downtown Homestead’s restaurants and shops. Homestead has one historic, full service inn with all the amenities for your comfort and convenience. Rooms in the inn are beautifully decorated with period antiques, and a wrap around balcony surrounds the newly renovated facility. Many hotels in the Homestead region have employees that speak Spanish, French and German, as well as English, due to the large multicultural population in the area. All major credit cards are accepted at hotels, and most have 24-hour front desk service; many have restaurants on site or within walking distance. Other amenities include television with cable, phone service, internet hookup, air conditioning, kitchenettes, free parking, pool, safe deposit box, conference and meeting rooms and handicapped facilities.
Homestead is only 30 miles to Key Largo, 15 miles to Everglades National Park, 7 miles to Biscayne National Park, 3 miles to Coral Castle and 5 miles to Homestead Air Force Base. You’ll find a large number, and a wide variety of accommodations surrounding these attractions – budget hotels, resorts, bed & breakfasts, vacation rentals and inns. Many are located in historic old town Key West, where bed & breakfast inns can be found, decorated in the airy, Florida Keys style rather than old Victorian style. Landscaping is gorgeous at most resorts and hotels and includes orchids, tropical plants, fruit trees and other exotic vegetation. There is only one “in-the-park” lodging facility in the Everglades National Park, but it includes a lodge with 74 rooms, cottages and a suite - all with spectacular views of the Florida Bay. The rooms all have a rustic appeal with convenient amenities, and all rooms and cottages come with two double beds. There are tons of lodging facilities in the Florida Keys, including many national hotel chains.
Hostels are also available for those on a strict budget. Look for a friendly, laid back atmosphere, with fully equipped kitchens, phone service, laundry facilities and gardens. If you are planning a camping vacation, Homestead also has several campgrounds and RV parks available, with spacious tent sites, full service RV hook-ups, 24-hour security, and daily, weekly or monthly rates. Many find camping in south Florida to be a very economical way to see all the sights. This is the state’s most diverse region, and camping is a great way to experience the unique setting of the area. You can pitch your tent in a shady tropical setting or drive your RV into a spacious pull-through site. Set up “home” base just minutes to the Florida Everglades and the Keys. Please note that mosquitoes can be a problem but they are minimal December through March.
